With sales volume ramping up and a strong desire to continue to control costs, MCI needed to more efficiently and effectively train its incoming and existing salespeople.
An initiative was undertaken that required the design and implementation of web-based sales
training to serve the needs of MCI’s Mid-Markets salesforce of nearly 4,500.
The Project
In order to assure maximum alignment of the new system with MCI’s requirements and business processes, one of our consultants conducted a needs and capabilities analysis which consisted of extensive interviews and focus groups with MCI salespeople and sales managers. Existing training processes and training materials were audited, and necessary reengineering of training content and flow was carried out using the latest principles of instructional design. Our consultant's team then worked hand-in-hand with MCI’s IT department to implement the new web-based sales training.
The end result for our consultant's team and MCI was an award winning and cost effective web-based sales training system, so successful that it was featured in numerous training industry publications and presented at several leading training conferences, including SALT, the Society for Applied Learning Technology.
