TEMPE, Ariz. – November 15, 2011 – Helping teachers use the arts in every classroom in the country to improve student achievement in math, science, reading, writing — that’s the work of Arts Integration Solutions (AiS). AiS works with teachers from more than 60 schools in Arizona, Colorado, California, Missouri, New Mexico and Ohio. The Arizona-based nonprofit is supported with funds from Wells Fargo, Target, JPMorgan Chase and several regional foundations.

AiS has decided to bring leading Arizona marketing firm Zion & Zion on board to provide strategic marketing and branding assistance to help drive the program to new heights.

AiS CEO Donn Poll stated, “We know Zion & Zion from their work with a variety of educational institutions including local, Arizona work for charter schools, Maricopa Community College and the Arizona Academic Decathlon; as well as national work for Arizona State University and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Their expertise across branding, web development, messaging and marketing in general in the education market is exactly what we are after.”

Zion & Zion CEO Aric Zion (@ariczion) commented, “We’ve worked with a lot of non-profits, and AiS is definitely a focused one, thoroughly committed to their goal of transforming the education system through bringing arts integration to every child in the country to help them succeed in math, science, and literacy. Once you’re exposed to the concept and see the past proof of how arts integration can transform education, you’re immediately on board. Our job is to help get that message out better, clearer and faster through an improved communications strategy that will include a website revamp, email marketing, collaterals, etc.”

About Arts Integration Solutions (AiS)
Arts Integration Solutions provides professional development to educators and program development to schools that seek to use the arts to improve student achievement. AiS focuses on the classroom practice of arts integration, using the arts in the service of teaching academics — math, science, reading, writing, social studies — and vital 21st century skills.
Rather than providing a prescribed curriculum, AiS helps schools develop their own arts integration plans and guides educators in creating lessons that integrate the arts in order to achieve academic goals. AiS seeks to elevate educators’ skills and comfort in using the arts as an academic tool to increase student engagement and retention in order to produce a direct impact on student achievement. Partner schools accomplish sustainable results through AiS best practices for leaders, teachers and students alike, resulting in specific student achievement measures on through whole-school transformation. AiS implementation has been shown to break down additional barriers faced in the classroom, including: language (ELL), poverty, disability, social and cultural issues.
